I bought a new Acer notebook with Windows 7 and it comes with a preinstalled Trojan/virus that doesn’t allow you to change internet explorer’s homepage (which is set to Acer’s home page that redirects you to igoogle).
I contacted the Acer support and they didn’t know how to solve the problem.

After some work here is the solution that I found:
Delete all cookies, log out of google and go into regedit (be careful – do not try to do this if you are not an advanced user).
    Go to
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
    Chabge the value of:
    Default_Page_URL
    Start Page

    Good luck.

Very interesting find, moranlevy. Welcome to NBR!
And this, kiddies, is why I clean install Windows...and use Firefox.
