    Sorry for my bad english!
    I need to replace a 8600m gt graphics card from Dell Vostro 1700 to acer 5920g.
    The not overclocked acer gcard fail while i'm play a game (artifacts).In the next restart, only see black or white images. I try to repair (thinking on soldiering)on a oven at 200ºC but only gain the capabiliity to use that who a generic graphics card (800x600).
    I see on ebay, but the idea of the vbios from dell doesn't work on the acer lap scared me.

    I'm pretty sure you can't put a Dell card into an Acer MXM machine - Dell's cards are not even physically MXM, they use a completely different connector (possibly AXIOM).

    Absolutely not. Won't fit at all.

    You can put recent Alienware/dell and recent dell Precision cards in recent MXM 3.0 acers.

    You'd be better off with a 9600m GT or fx 770m from HP system.

    Only GT240M and later cards can be exchanged into MXM 3 acers. That was the only time they were compatible.
