This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Replaced hard drive. HELP

    Replaced hard drive on Aspire 5100 with new one from Best Buy. The recovery goes very slow but finally goes until I get a disk error. I am using recovery disks I made fortunately just a couple weeks ago before the computer died. The new hard drive is not partitioned. This I understand is maybe the problem How do I partition it and to what sizes?
