    Hi all

Long time no post here. My wife's M5-581TG ultrabook was slammed onto the floor by one of our grandkids and the front bezel has cracked in the corners, needing replacement. Acer only sells the entire cased LCD screen, however I may be able to acquire a front bezel from stripped down machines on Ebay. What I need to know, if possible, is (1) how to remove the bezel (no visible screw covers I can see) and (2) whether the numbers after the model mean a different screen configuration or whether all bezels for the 581TG series will fit - I'm in Australia and the full model is M5-581TG73516G52MASS.

On the other hand, if anyone knows where I can obtain a definite replacement front bezel, I'm open to suggestions. Acer will provide and install the entire case for around $200, but I can buy a bezel for around $20 or so.

Also, I wonder if anyone has the service manual at all and could post (it was posted here a year or so ago but not available any longer).

A lot of requests above. This is a very nice little lappie and I really do want to keep it in reasonable repair.

    Thank you all for viewing.

    Hi thang

All M5-581TGs are the same - whatever comes after that number is configuration code so it won't affect the bezel in any way.

Here's a link with the Service Manual (let me know once you've downloaded it so I can remove it from Dropbox public folder)

Thank you sir, it is safely downloaded. This manual is a lifesaver (metaphorically of course), very detailed and will be the reason I buy Acer in future. As all M5-581TG's are the same, I have already identified sources at around $20-$30 from the US and will be buying as soon as I return from overseas in a couple of weeks.

Thank you so very much again, you are to be commended :)

    Best regards
