 Then I found a AMD Turion 64 X2 socket S1 TL-60 2,0Ghz, could it replace my tl-50 1,6GHz without any issue ? I mean, does it have any influence on the ram, as mine is 533MHz, or should I change both ram and cpu ? Thanks for answer ! :)

Nope, your ram is more than fine for the 2.0 cpu and u should be able to replace it easily.

Just make sure that you reset the voltage on the cpu there, cuz I see in ur sig that ur undervolted to .95 volts. Surely a 2.0 Turion won't be able to run at that, so if u do swap it, change back the voltage to stock #s.

Even though the TL-60 is a Turion x2 if you are upgrading to that processor the main thing you will have to contend with is increased power draw, your laptop power supply has to be able to provide the little extra juice, mind you the TL-50 has a 31w TDP and the TL-60 has a 35w TDP that is the only thing I can think of that might be an issue for you, both these processors use the same socket so again no problems there. The ram is no problem as all turion 64 x2 processors can use DDR2 533 or DDR2 667

Unless you are performing processor dependant tasks on the notebook, you won't notice a difference in the perforamance of the computer. Basic tasks such as word processor and surfing the Internet can be performed by every modern day processor. Only in applications such as video editing nd encoding, will any difference in speed be noticed. Upgrading the processor will also void the warrnaty. Spending the money on more RAM and a faster hard disk will be a better way to increase speed and they are also alot more noticible speed differences.

Thanks Adinu. So no problem, fine ! Of course I will take the voltage back at stock for the first start ;)

Thanks Evolution. I didn't think about that... will search the web if power supplies are the same with 1.6 or 2 GHz Turions, but I think (hope) it will be fine ;)

Thanks Zero. As I play a quite pretty Far Cry on this mobile, I'm sure 2GHz will help a little more. The 7300 is easyly OCable, but in games the main limit is the core, so that's why I want to upgrade. :p Concerning the ram, I consider 2Go is enough for a laptop, as I don't edit video or this kind of stuff... If only I could push a little more the ram, it would become a really powerfull laptop, but I'm still really satisfied on it as it came.

Now the thing is hat on this laptop you must unmount everything to reach the CPU, but I allready did it simply, it took me 3 hours the first time without documentation for changing thermal paste...

A question I was wondering is about the "shared memory" for the Graphic card... as graphic memory and main memory are not the same speed (700/533) I don't really understand how this is managed, perhaps it's a stupid question, say me ! :p :D

The Go 7300 isn't a very powerful graphics card, and its likely that its preventing the game from running any better. Just to make sure, check when in the game, if the processor usage reaches around 100% in Task Manager, under the "Performance" tab.

The shared memory will run at that 533 MHz frequency. That means that it will perform slower than the dedicated graphics RAM, ont the graphics card itself. It will not only perform slower because of its frequency, but also because it is located a further distance from the core, and the data that needs to read needs to go through the system bus, before it reaches the graphics core, which takes time.

I don't think that power supply will be a problem. People have upgraded their cpus w/o needing to replace the power supply. What you need to do is read the specs of ur machine in the manual.

Mine, for example, says that it supports Turion X2 TL-50 or higher. So it means that this exact machine will take faster cpus than the stock one even tho they might be slightly higher wattage.

So check in ur manual and make sure that it says just that.
