    Replacing HardDrive (Aspire 5102)

    I got the lid off... and then I'm stumped. I don't want to do anything rash that would damage the notebook, so hopefully someone who has done this to their 5102 can help me out.

    If you're wondering why, I bought a 5400rpm notebook harddrive and want to switch it with the slow 4200rpm one that came with the laptop.

    If your notebook looks like mine, here's how to do it:
    In the second pic, the circled area is a little flap with a foam spacer underneath. Remove the foam spacer, and the drive will slide to the right. You can now pull it out of the case. Remove the drive cage from your old drive and install to the new drive. Slide it back in and put the spacer back in. Close it up, boot it up and you're done!
