    Hi everyone,

My dualshock controller fell on my keyboard and I would like to replace it, but I can't find any guide or video about doing this on an Aspire 7738G.
I tried to do it myself but I have some problems with removing the bezel above the keyboard. I removed some screws at the bottom of my laptop and was able to lift up the bezel (on which 'Tuba' is written) a bit at each side but I can't remove it entirely (and I don't want to break it). Also the part on which 'Dolby Home Theater' and 'Virtual SurroundSound' is written isn't easy to lift as the screen is a bit in the way.

Does anyone know how to do this properly?

Ive done this on a compaq presario laptop, basicaly i had to take the battery out and remove some screws, then i was able to pop the cover above the keyboard then their were 4 screws holding keyboard in,then once they were out lift keyboard up,take off ribbon from keyboard.
You might have to take off back plate and check for more screws that could be holding that cover over speakers on,maybe some under battery too.Sometimes it's hard to pop the cover off, just dont over do it.

Thanks for the help, but I don't see any other screws... I need someone who did this on an Acer Aspire 7738/7738G or any other model that looks like this:

You could use a service manual for Aspire 7735/7738G with detailed illustrations on how to do it.
It can be found elsewhere but cannot be shared on this forum.

Thank you very much, I didn't know there was such a manual! I searched on google and found a rapidshare link. I'll look at it when I have time.
And why did you say "cannot be shared on this forum". Is it illegal?

Yes. There's a copyright clause in the document so you cannot simply publish their property without a written permission from Acer.
The result- we can't allow links to be posted here.

You should be able to replace the keyboard with no problems now.
