How can I restore my laptop using the hidden partition. My DVDs are somehow corrupt and I get error 0x00005 every time I try to restore. Also, my WMC OEM disks dont work. This is my last option.

I believe it's Alt+F10 while booting? I don't know I never used it but I think that was it.

Hopefully you haven't changed any of the hard drive partitions or anything cause otherwise I'm not sure it will work.

This has been covered many times here, please do a search first.

    1. ALT + F10 prior to windows will run the D2D recovery if you haven't dorked or converted your partitions on your laptop.

    2. Get ahold of a windows xp home / pro / mce 2k5 oem disk (depending on what version of the os you have) and use the key on the bottomof your laptop. Go to acer's website and download the needed drivers and applications.

Check the stickies and how-to's they were written for a reason. ;)

I have tried the Alt - F10 but it refuses to work. All it does is beep at me. I will try to *find* an OEM CD then. Will Acer provide me one?

Well I gave up finding a OEM Media Center key, so I am retrying a Windows XP Pro I happen to find on my desk.

Now, where can I get my drivers? The PanAm site does not contain any of the Aspire 5570 drivers.

    Try the euro site.

Btw, Acer charges you 50 bucks for a recovery DVD
