    Hi there

I have an Aspire 5601, which by default has 3 partitions.

Partition 1 - 40GB - Windows XP Media Center (Default OS)
    Partition 2 - ~48GB - Nothing on it
    Partition 3 - 1GB - backup partition

What I did is, on partition 2, I purchased Windows Vista and set that up on Partition 2.

So yes the Vista bootup screen lets you select which version of Windows to boot up when you hit the power button...

Now my question is, I want to use my default CDs to reformat the first partition and get it reinstalled, but Alt -F10 no longer works because Vista is the default system on there now.

If I remove the Vista installation, will I be able to hit Alt - F10 and reformat the laptop?

I guess it applies to any installation but I'm not too familiar with how operating systems deploy their functions..

    Thanks!
