I saw another post on here from someone with a Acer Aspire 5003 with the SIS M760GX graphics card complaining that this video card would not support the Windows Vista Aeros...I also have a Acer Aspire 3003 with the same graphics card. Windows recommends 'upgrading' the graphics card. Can you replace this integrated graphics card, and if so, what model do you recommend?
It sure would be a shame to have to junk a perfectly good laptop just because one component won't support Vista's greedy requirements!![]()

Unfortunately the graphics card cannot be upgraded. Especially since with integrated graphics, they are soldered onto the motherboard itself. Acer didn't offer any other GPU options series. There would have been a slight chance if they did, but even then you would have had to replace the whole motherboard.

That's what I figured...Oh well, I think I'll just keep rockin' my trustworthy Windows XP for the next year or so 'til all the quirks are worked out of Vista! Then I'll buy something new...

I asume you will be able to run Vista tweaking your visual settings a little. Full AeroGlass is another story, but really I don't thing it will make such a difference....unless you're extremely picky about that.
You should better start wondering about RAM upgrades instead.....that's the main hog that Vista is bringing with it. -
I have the Aspire 5002WLMi with the SiS M760GX, all I can say is that it works fine with Windows Vista, sure you can't run Aero, but the laptop runs well with the Vista Basic style.
SIS M760GX and Windows Vista....!!??
