I know there is another way to find the SN other then the bottom of my notebook (which is all "washed" out now). Could you please tell me the steps to get it? Acer told me FN+F2, but that didn't work on my Vista.

    Thanks,
    Rosy

    Open Up Powershell.exe
    Type
    "get-wmiobject win32_bios"
    Enter
You should see your S/N works on all system with Windows Vista above.

just F2 to go into the bios when you first turn it on. it should show underneath asset tag or serial number.
