I just got my 8940G and I'm debating on whether to return it and wait for this baby to come out but for how much and how long?!?!?!? THAT VIDEO CARD

    Don't know how official these are (Intel ® Core ™ i7 processor 720QM (8MB L2 cache, 1.6GHz)
???? huh???) but I found a site that claims to have pre-ordered the new Acer Aspire 8942G with the ATI ® Mobility Radeon ™ HD 5850 Graphics Cards.

IDK when they'll ever get here since AMD/ATI apparently are having production issues.

    Code:

Looks like it's going to be expensive at €1,799 euros ($2,668). And did Acer always offer a 2 yr warranty on in the euroland? They really need to get competitive on their warranty and customer service in the USA.

im guessing its at that price if you get it with options like

    -8 GB DDR3-1066 RAM
    -1280 GB (2x 640 GB) S-ATA (5.400rpm) Festplatten 1280 GB (2x 640 GB), S-ATA (5.400rpm) Hard Drives
-Blu-ray Disc™ Writer mit DVD SuperMulti (DL) Blu-ray Disc ™ Writer with DVD SuperMulti (DL)

the 8942g shouldnt be way more expensive than the 8940g, im predicting a $1500-ish price adittional for the ATI vid card whichever model it is

    I heard it was to have a 5650, but you can't complain about a 5850. :)

    So wait, Acer's finally giving it's 18.4" behemoths an honest-to-god top-flight GPU?
About time, say all the 8920G/8930G/8935G/8940G users.

It would be indeed GREAT to see an Acer with something more than powerful mid-ranger (9600M GT DDR3; HD4670) or modest top-tier GPU (9700M GT). :D Woot HD5850 :D Way to go Acer :D
