This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Screen "shadow"

    I have an Acer Aspire 9300. It has suddenly developed a strange ghosting or shadow on the screen - see here:

    The problem occurs on the BIOS screen as well as when Windows is running (which appears to be much worse because of the finer resolution), so I assume that this is not a software problem.
    I have tested this on an external monitor, and there is no problem, which presumably means that the GPU is OK?

    Any ideas where to go from here?

    Any suggestions much appreciated.
