Hi,
My question is simple : My panel is a AUO60ED ( 60Hz panel Gsync), can we put to this laptop a 120Hz panel ?
-
Of course you can. The AUO42ED should work perfectly.
I install 120hz panels in laptops quite often. Just put one in a Nitro 5. -
Does I need to take out the battery before replacing the screen ? ( there is no content on Youtube on how to replace a Predator 15 screen xD)
-
I have done the job with the batter plugged in and unplugged.
If you’re in a high static environment then take proper precaution.
While I don’t have a tutorial on the Predator I have several on other machines. The procedure will be the same on my tutorials as it is on your Predator.
It takes about 10-15 minutes to do if it’s your first time.Quaternum likes this. -
Thanks you for your help

If you have success, please share infos in this guide. thanks

I plan to buy acer predator 15 with 1070, and what do you think about the thermal in this laptop? Is it good to handle 1070 and the cpu?
-
If it’s the G series it’ll be solid after a repaste.
The GPU isn’t the issue.
The cooler is chincy but the fans are thick and move a good bit of air. Plus they scavenge a good bit of air since the chassis is pretty thick and has some open spaces inside. At least that was the case on the 17”.
But you will be very disappointed thermally out of the box.
The difference with new TIM on the 17” models I used in the past was higher than any laptop I tested so far. -
Nah, I think it will be nice thermally speaking if you use vertical sync... But yeah with a new paste it will be perfect
-
I’ve had three of them. Using vertical sync to improve thermals, it’s gonna be very title dependent.
