I have looked for the answer I need, but not found it. I apologize if I missed it.
I have an Aspire 4810TZ-4011 notebook. It came with Vista, which would not run some of my programs so I installed XP Pro SP2. The screen resolution was not right, all images were stretched in the horizontal direction. The display native resolution is 1366 X 768, which is not an option that I can find. One of my former students fixed it by downloading something, and the screen resolution was correct. When Microsoft Updater went to SP3, the screen reverted to the stretched form. That former student, now an IT professional, is no longer available to me. HELP!

You probably need new display drivers...
-
That is what I figured, but I haven't been able to find the right one.

That's probably because you laptop doesn't support Windows XP. Just go back to Vista or spend a few days searching the web for a compatible driver that will work.
Sometimes the Vista drivers work for Windows Xp. Try them. You know it would actually help if you bothered to post what Graphics Card you have...
Google your computer name (the full name) then add 'graphics driver'. -
Thanks for the replies.
1. Some of my essential software, that was written for Win 3.1, will not run on Vista. That is why I went to XP.
2. The manufacturer lists the following for the video system of this computer:

I hope this helps. I need help! -
See if this helps- Intel video driver for your chipset and Win XP.
-
Then simply go to Intel.com website and get the drivers for "Mobile Intel 4 series Express Chipset Family"
For your fossile software, you should consider installing Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 SP1 and set up a virtualized Windows 9x/ME system.
You can then run the Vista OS that came with your computer.
