I have an Acer Aspire 3050. I really like the four-way scroll button in between the mouse buttons, but it only functions as a two-way scroll. Up and down work fine under all circumstances, but I've yet to make side-to-side scrolling work.
Do I need to enable something? Or is it not actually meant to scroll side-to-side?
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks![]()

I have run into some problems with side-to-side scrolling not working on my 5040 as well, but there are also times when my up-and-down decides to stop working moments after it was perfectly fine ... I have absolutely no idea as to why this happens. But I'm curious to see if anyone can help us with this!

Has your side-to-side ever worked? Mine hasn't, not for anything.

side to side only works when you are viewing a webpage that is larger than your native rez on your LCD. If you can't scroll sideways by default then it will not work.

But the page IS bigger. For example, pictures from my phone are of a higher resolution than my screen and will not fit. I can click down the scroll button on my wireless mouse and use the four-way directional scroll of that, but the scroll button on the laptop will only go up and down.
Please give us the benefit of the doubt that we already knew that, we're not morons.
...at least I'm not. -
My 5044 is the same, side to side doesn't work full stop regardless of screen width (and presence of lateral scroll bars on the page viewed) and up/down is a very very rare treat.
the keyboard arrow buttons work mostly but now and again forget also. -
My side-to-side works if I hold it down for a second or two. It's just not as responsive as the up/down scroll for some reason.
