This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Alright I have a TravelMate 2451WLMi laptop.

    Now there is an already built in microphone in the lap top, that is always on. But I already have a microphone that can plug in that I want to use. Is there anyway for me to be able to disable this microphone so it doesn't pick up anyone sounds and will allow me to use the plug in microphone which I want to use?

    You can mute the mic in the sound options. That's what I do.
