    Hello,
So yesterday I got my first laptop. I got an Acer Aspire 5315. I had been wanting to geta nice laptop for a while and well I will hold of on that. Next year I will build one that can do a lot of audio stuff. Anyways the past couple of weeks I had been looking at getting a cheaper one that would just be good for internet, typing papers, and putting some music on it.

So yesterday a guy I know was trying to sell me his netbook and well needless to say I wasn't to intrested. He had a laptop setting there and I said I asked if he would sell and he said he would sell it for $50 since he had another just like it.

It was two years old and I got it for $50. Its by no means a very powerful machine, but for $50 not too bad. The battery however has been quite intriguing it died on my twice earlier today and I thought it must have short battery life and I need to watch it more carefully so I was and I had it unplugged for like 20 min full charged it said it had over an hour left and it was 70% and then the next minute it shut off because it was dead?! hehehe I guess it has a sense of humor... :D
so its not a huge deal it has a battery that works for a little bit, but if I could get it to last a little longer that would be sweet. I am wondering if maybe its some sort of BIOS error or something. Anybody experience something somewhat like this?
    shalom,
    Matthias

That's pretty normal behavior for a dying battery.
See here on how to check your current capacity.

Not uncommon for this to happen. As the machine was a couple of years old, I'd say the battery is dead. I had a 5920 couple of years back, only had it around 6 months and the battery did the same thing, windows would display the same thing, say 1hr left, 1o mins later, it was dead. There is a program which displays the state of the battery wear etc, but can't remember the name of it, I'm sure someone may post the name of it.

Also, this thread may interest you, all about upgrading the 5315, you could put a dual core CPU in it and more RAM for next to nothing:
