Hey guys.. i was just wondering why my computer reads as 554mhz on battery power.. i know it speeds up when needed.. but should it read as 600mhz instead? thats a whole 50mhz gone!

Hi, the CPU will be 'throttleed back under battery power, it's the power managment doing it's job and is quite normal for that to happen to save on battery power....

The oscillation frequency of clock generator might be set slightly lower than the specification due to EMI issue...thats the reason for this
if you want the clock to be an interger multiplie of 33.3 (to run exact on freq)use mobile meter
Download mobile meter http://www.geocities.co.jp/SiliconValley-Oakland/8259/release/0310/mm0310.zip
It has an option to correct this ....
BTW: I think mobile meter is must have for every notebook user out there
If any one know any cool utils like mobile meter please share it here

It does, and its normal ..we wont get exact clock as mentiond it may go marginally above or below at times . i have given the exact reason in the above post..guess u didnt understand it,But you could have tried the option in mobile meter that would have made things very clear
Slow on battery power?
