    Hello,

Pardon my ignorance here, but am researching to buy another laptop(I currently own a Dell and have had bad luck with it), a few friends of mine have Acer laptops and love them. So needless to say, my next laptop will be an Acer from the TravelMate series

I just have one question to ask all the Acer computer experts out there.. What is the smallest (in screen size) TravelMate laptop that I can buy (from Acer USA) that still has an internal optical drive (such as DVD or Blu-Ray?) and bluetooth connectivity

I'm mostly looking for portability but without the hassle of plugging up a DVD drive every time I want to use it.

    Thank you in advance

I don't know about TravelMates, but the smallest Aspire I know of is the Aspire 2930, with its 12.1 inches.

The problem with optical drives are both the weight and size. Most of small computers with 10,1-13 inches screens haven't got an optical drive, and you should go up to around 14-inches before it begins to be common to see optical drives installed in laptops.

However, I have seen a teacher on my school, who has a 12,1 inch Lenovo with a optical drive. The perfect choice for you, if you'd ask me :) I have an Asus 1215n myself (12 inch), and I like the size. However it doesn't have an optical drive :/.

I've got the older Acer 2920 and think it is great apart from the fact that it runs Vista. 12.1" screen is fine, and I wouldn't want to go any smaller because of the small size of the text. It is quite heavy for a small machine, but it's powerful and does everything I want, has a nice keyboard etc.

I have a Toshiba netbook which is smaller and lighter, has no optical drive and is horrible to use.

I also have 2 larger Lenovo machines and like them. Lenovo do some small screen machines.
