I'm considering buying this laptop, and i intent to have it for at least 3 years, provided it lasts that long. But im wondering is it vista ready? Lots of other manufacturers offer vista ready, i just don't see it with the Acer so when time comes will it be ready or no?

Well the notebook doesn't have the "Windows Vista Ready" logo/sticker on it. It's just as compatible with any other notebook that has the logo/sticker. I have the 5672 and it can run Vista Ultimate. So no worries there mate :)

The laptop comes with the "Vista capable" sticker just for future reference :)
