Hello,
I am willing to pay whoever can solve my problem. I only need your intellectual answers, I will physically do the work on the computer. I will give the scenario and you can pm me to give your thoughts. If there are partial correct answers, I will reward to those contributors.
I understand that you have nothing to go on to believe that I will pay you anything, and most of you won't recieve anything. The only thing that you have is my word, and the satisfaction that you have helped someone out. Will you get rich from the right answer?NO. Will you be able to fill up your SUV. Most likely YES. So I do hope to get some really straightforward, specific, and smart answers here today, as I have been trying to solve this problem for a long time. If I cannot get resolution here, I will try a new site. The following is my situation.
I have an Acer C110 w/ external cd drive for firewire. This original drive does not work. I do have an additional Sony external cd drive for usb.
For software I have Napp CD specifically for C110. I also have Disk 1 System CD for Travelmate C110 labeled as (Bootable). I also have Disks 2-1,2-2,2-3 CD's for Travelmate C110 Series Recovery CD.
I also have several xp home and professional original copy cd's.
Current status of the tablet: Windows xp home is loaded on it via the sony cd drive. I was able to format the entire hard drive to fat 32.
My main issues are the following:
How do you copy the napp cd information to an iso format, and how do you install it? Also once on cd correctly what are the commands to install it?
I have Nero to make a copy with it, or please recommend another program if required.
I need to know the sequence of events that should take place, including reboots, to reload the full working copy of legitimate software that I paid for.
Now keep in mind that the original bootable disk would not load on the sony cd drive. In fact the only thing that would load is xp home edition.
I own a small service and installation company that deals with computers peripherals, cabling, commercial satellite, cellular repeaters, and various other projects. I deal with alot of technical aspects to my company, and am very proficient at taking technical direction. I am up for the task to repair this tablet, are you up for the task to help? I am the hands, you are the brain.
If you have any questions feel free to post here, or pm me.
Yes I could send this back and have it repaired for only 200 dollars. I just find it to be a challenge that I want to conquer. I need to know how to fix it. This is what has made my company so successful, we always accept a challenge.
Well I look forward to hearing from everyone. Good Luck!
I look forward to your answers, and may the smartest person win

First and foremost: I don't want to get paid any money. If this helps you, there's a reputation ("rep") system here at these forums that you can use to thank people.
To burn the ISO image you can use Nero. It is quite straightforward -- check for example this page.
As for loading the ISO image on your computer, you can use for example Alcohol -- get it here.
This is only general information, but these programs are the most simple in their kind in my opinion. Post back here if you need more specific help on using these programs. -
Well I will say that I must have been looking in the wrong forum then, because this is the most information that I have recieved to date.
I will be happy to pay you in Rep Power if you so desire. Although a monetary reward is still available.
I will look into this suggestion that you have so kindly provided, and my next question would have to be will I be able to install the ISO through the Sony CD? What are your thoughts on this? -
Why would you want to format in Fat32?

does the c110 have option to boot on usb cdrom ?
if so you shound be able to boot napp cd and then it will ask you for recovery disk to rebuild machine
or is the issue you have have the nap cd does not support you usb cdrom ? -
still waiting on PAY PAL transfer,,

Are you sure you still have the D2D partition? Maybe the CD do not detect any.
-
I do not have the d2d partition on the hard drive. It has a different version of windows xp home right now. I do however have the napp cd to recover the d2d partition. It is just that when I boot from cd I first get a blinking cursor, for about 30 seconds then it goes to the F8 screen to choose how you want to boot windows xp(safe mode etc.) If I put in the acer disk 1 bootable system cd and boot then I choose option 1 (boot from usb cd only) then it goes to (Checking the status of your hard disk...
DUSE version 4.4 Build 110 Release (General)
DOS USB Stack Driver with USB Storage Extensions
Copyright Cypress Semiconductor, 2000-2002
and blinking cursor no activity after this
I believe my Napp cd may not be burned correctly, or am I missing some commands for the Napp cd?
I looked on the napp cd and I have the following files
1.pcx
2.pcx
3.pcx
AMP
AMPP150W.iso
AMPP.PQI
DFSA.rtc
PQER
PQER.OVL
PQER.PQG
PQER.RTC
PQIDplyD
PQIDplyD.rtc
RAMPP.PQS
RESTORE.PCX
If these are all of the files that I need then I must be doing something incorrect to make them load at boot up time. -
sounds like 1 of 2 possible problems...
1) the USB CD cannot boot the laptop due to "some" unknown issue.
if you put the XP install DISK in the USB drive and reboot using F12 does
the XP install start of the CD??? IS IT BBOTING FROM USB???
2) i know nothing about the use of NAPP cds,, BUT IS THE NAPP CD BOOTABLE,,, i assume the ISO is built as a BOOTABLE DISK???
try it in a differnet machine.. maybe a desktop.. just see if it boots,,, then shut down the machine
what exactly are you trying to USE the NAPP cd for??? you might have to boot with the bootable disk #1 mentiond in your first post,,,, then switch to the NAPP CD...
but the more i read and think about this it sounds like the USB drive is having problems reading CDs
see if any of that helps

No .exe ? There are at least 2 if I remember correctly.
-
There are two .exes present on the napp cd. I can also boot after f12 windows xp. If I am in xp I can click on the executables although I get error messages one it cannot run under this version of dos, that is on the PQED.EXE file. Then the other is (this program is trying to access the hard drive. access is denied.)
-
OK... try this,, do you have a floppy drive... either internal in the laptop,, or access to a USB model??
if so take a WIN98SE STARTUP FLOPPY DISK... images are all over,,, just check google..
i don't think you NAPP cd is bootable
so if you can boot w/ CD OR FLOPPY and get access to the CD from a DOS PROMPT.... then insert the NAPP CD and run the executible files
try that
later,
bigO
