    Hi Everyone,

I just got my new notebook today, it's an Aspire 5520-5551. I was wondering if anyone knows if there is anything you can purchase to protect the surface of the laptop where your wrists rest. Like a skin or anything? I've heard it can wear quickly in that area with the constant pressure and friction of the wrist and was hoping to avoid that if possible. Any info or suggestions would be very welcome. Thanks so much!

i dont think that there will be a problem with that
that laptop has a ceramic like plastic which is very hard. also the plastic itself is white and not painted like most notebooks that are white.

Stop worrying about wear like that. In one year it will be an obsolete paperweight.

Any money spend on items like that you will never recoup. Use it what it is intended for. When it is time to upgrade you buy a new one.

Well, I am counting on at least 2 years or better if possible out of this laptop, so I want to keep it in good condition. I know I've read about many that have outlasted that time frame. For what I need it for I should be set, I don't have to have anything too fancy. Luckily I do have a 3 year warranty for this one.

I have been using my emachines m6811 for more then three years now. I found out that when you get a bit older, things like you describe are not that important anymore. I just wanted to say, use it what is it intended for and save yourself the headaches of trying to take unnecessary care of possessions with a relative short lifespan.

    have a nice week-end.
