The sound chipset on the Ferrari needs a driver upgrade. I've installed the latest one from Realtek, but the chipset in the Ferrari isn't recognized. Right now, MP3/AAC playback is buggy - chirps, blips, etc. This happens regardless ofl CPU load. Any help would be much appreciated.

Ah, I had this issue when I had an Acer - the problem is with the drivers, Realtek doesn't do the best job on those...

You should download the latest AC'97 drivers - download these drivers, I haven't had any issues:
Link. The A3.78 drivers are supposed to fix that issue that you are experiencing. Download the third driver down (17.399MB).

Before you install the new ones, uninstall the old ones from Add/Remove programs in the control panel.

Let me know how you make out!

Same problem with the Acer Aspire 5021WMLi...

Updated all the drivers (Realtek) but still crackly, popping and blipping.

But I uninstalled all my codecs then installed K-Lite Codec Pack 2.54. Now all is good! :)

No more harsh music, or poor sound performance in games! hope this helps!

Hi. Sorry for late reply. Been busy.

Thanks for the tips. I've already tried 3.78 and that didn't recognize the sound chipset. I've K-Lite installed as well, but that didn't fix it either. Please advise.
