My Acer has had sound problems since i bought it and no new drivers are available. it always stutters off and on when anything audio is playing. youtube, windows sounds, music etc.
after installing software for my Seagate FreeAgent Go Flex hard drive the backup software ran and backed up the C drive. then the audio problem got worse where it pops and crackles every few seconds. real annoying. also the eRecovery won't burn a System Recovery disk either. tried several times and then let it run for 9 hrs and it stayed at 0%.

i called acer. they want me to do a reformat back to factory settings and if that don't work then ship it in. what good will that do when it did it fresh from the factory in the first dang place? i don't want to waste time reinstalling everything if it still does it. If i did it on a fresh install then doing another won't help much will it?

There are more recent drivers available.
Your notebook uses Realtek audio chip.
Realtek is actually very good with driver updates- they roll out a new one every month.
Go here to download the latest drivers.

thanks. i'm downloading them now. i thought about looking at Realtek, but wasn't sure since some computers have drivers custom to the computer model.
