So as said in the title, I'd like to save those 5Gb on my Acer 9302, as you can see I installed both XP & Vista on different partitions, C & F, and all my docs and necessary drivers in case of reinstall of one or the other OS are saved in D. I own a xp media center install CD and will soon receive my Vista DVD, so I don't need and don't want anymore this lost of space on my 120Go drive. Can anyone tell me if this is possible to simply delete it with Partition Magic, in order to redistribute saved space to C, F, and D, of course without crashing my system... As this partition is the first one on the HD, I'm a bit affraid of consequences on MBR or something important like this. Note that as far I configured this system, no problem occured, I'd like to continue this way.... :) Thanks !

Nothing ? I really want to securely get rid of this "useless" partition... If anyone did it without formatting the whole hard drive, this could help. :)

I am not perfectly certain but u can merge partiotions without crashing the system with part. magic >7.
However, it seems a bit risky to me. Moreover, u will delete ur hidden part. which is ur recovery function. In addition, there might be problems with future reinstallation of ur XP.

Thanks Thief for your answer. As explained in my post, I don't need this recovery partition anymore, cos I found :D a xp media center install CD and can use it with my own registration, had to find one because Acer doesn't give one when you buy a laptop, the only solution to reinstall OS is to use this recovery and all the crap inside... not for me !
So my xp is installed from a clean xp media center cd, activated with my code, so nothing illegal I suppose. As all the drivers needed for my laptop are stored in my D: partition, I can easy reinstall a clean operating xp in C: if necessary. So now I WANT to get rid of this 5Go of useless crap...
Several questions appeared to me today : as no letter is attributed to the hidden partition, will PMagic8 be able to work on it during os load ? If no, and if I unhide it with PMagic when on XP, will a new letter be attributed to it or will it become C: by default as it's the first in the hard drive ?... I think no if I don't set it to active... Any ideas ? As far I used PMagic, since its first versions years ago, I never had any problem, but this time I'm in doubt. What is sure is that I'd prefer not reinstall the whole system to get rid of the hidden partition, with a lot of programs to reinstall on xp and on vista.

    Thanx for help ! :)
