    Dear fello Acerers,

I have a strange problem with an Aspire 5024 wlmi acer notebook, the keyboard and trackpad does not function. I tried plugging in a USB keyboard/mouse, same thing. No response what so ever. I called my friend up to use his 5024 notebook to reinstall a fresh copy of Windows XP and loaded the drive back in to mine, same problem. I can't even get in to the bios by clicking the F??? Is it a board problem (the usb controler??? What else could it be?? Thank you.

Sounds like either the keyboard/touchpad are broken or their cables are loose.

I tried with an ext. USB keyboard, same thing. No reaction and I can't hear the sound that a device was plugged in!? I wanted to contact acer but it is impossible to reach them unless you buy the premium support ticket 60USD

Is it under warranty? Cause it sounds like hardware failure. Your best bet would be to contact Acer for repair. I haven't heard of that premium support ticket though.
