I have an Acer Aspire 9410 with Vista home premium and I started to hear a high annoying sound, like a whistle, when i touch or press the Ctrl key. Sometimes it happens, sometimes not. Maybe this has something to do with the fact that the in-built microphone is right near the Ctrl key? I disabled the microphone but still the problem remains.

it sounds like you have mic boost enabled; if you disable it your problem should go away.
