    hi,

I've been playing some games fine, e.g. pro evo 2009, in fact I played a whole season with no problems.

Today when I turned on my comp and tried to play it got stuck, and then when i restart it's all really really slow (unplayable)

My other games have got all slow as well

Is there anyway to see if the graphics card is working properly?

    Thanks!

Google CPU-Z and GPU-Z and download them.
These tools can check your graphic card and processor.
I think it is due to CPU throttle because I am 6920G user as well.
Moreover, the gaming issues for 6920G was always CPU throttle.
Throttle mean REDUCE SPEED of certain hardware(basically refer to CPU or GPU) in order to REDUCE HEAT.
Aspire 6920G always throttle during gaming because the CPU think itself is very hot and need to throttle. Actually, it does not. The CPU acts clever and think it is.

    Solution 1:
Download BIOS 1.10 for your Acer Aspire 6920G from http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/ftp/ftp.html
It is a rar file. Extract all the files to a folder. I guess the guide(how to patch your bios) is included in the rar file.

*Patching of BIOS is very dangerous.
*Back-up your stuffs before doing it.

Some people sucessfully fix the problem using this solution. However, some did not.

Solution 2(95% would not work however you can try):

You have your Acer ePower Management with your right?
When your laptop is throttling due to false sense of overheat during gaming,
Alt-Tab to your desktop, click Acer ePower Management.
Reduce the your CPU speed(basically to lowest) and click Apply.
After that, increase your CPU speed(to maximum) and click Apply. Close the Acer ePower Management.
Your processor will not be throttle(throttle mean slowdown to reduce heat up) again. You can enjoy the game.
However, if you quit your games and turn on your game again, you need to do the same thing all over again. If not, it may slowdown again.

    Solution 3:

You need to download RightMark Clock (RMClock).
It is very hard to explain it all over again.
I will provide the useful link for you to read yourself.
So far, this is the BEST solution and workable for almost everyone.

Thanks, that's great, however, the game is laggy as soon as I restart my computer and as soon as I start the game up so I donl't think it has time to get hot?

Also, the screen keeps flashing when it lags, the game is not just lagging!

    Screen flashing means driver instability.
Which Nvidia driver are you running right now?

Tehsuigi means which FORCEWARE are you using.
I suggest you to download the latest FORCEWARE for your nvidia graphic card and install it. This installation will update/upgrade your driver stability and functions.

Usually, the update should able to fix your problem as well.

This sound like GPU downclock when you play a game especially racing game. Because I have experienced GPU downclock and the game became lag and flashy.
