Switch 10 BT driver up to date or what's wrong here?

I ran the Acer Care Center and it did the "Platform Driver Install" However it always thinks it needs this update. The Power Management update always fails.
The BIOS updated and it's not relisted.

I have a Microsoft ARC BT Mouse (not surface edition) It won't connect. It did come with a usb BT dongle, but I want it to connect to the internal BT in my switch 10. I checked the BT version in Device Manager and the version is 6.3.9600.17278 from date 6/21/06. Or does this BT mouse only work with the USB dongle?

Microsoft says it's updated. Acer's website says this is the current version.

I don't know if I have a Realtek or Broadcom in my Switch 10, but both seem far newer. However why would a 2006 driver be in a windows 8.1 laptop? Am I reading something wrong?

 

If you have a Broadcom Wi-Fi card, you also have a Broadcom BT, same goes for Realtek.
The reason the driver it shows in Device Manager is so old is because it's a generic Windows Bluetooth driver.
And yes- I know that you most likely have a BT driver installed yet device manager indicates that generic driver is used. I do have the same situation but I haven't bothered to investigate since I never use BT anyway.

I'll do this tomorrow and see how it goes. I have Realtek Wi-Fi and BT so this is the only one I can actually test.

 

I have the realtech audio drivers, so I must have that as well. I wish I could get this mouse working though.

 

No - you'd have Realtek audio drivers anyway. Check which Wi-Fi card you have. It's visible in the device manager but there should also be a stocker indicating that on the device itself.

The only thing that I can recommend is to try the more recent Bluetooth driver from Broadcom ( 12.0.0.9860).

Also don't mind the Generic BT device and its Windows driver. What you are actually looking at is in the device manager under System Devices and is probably called Broadcom Bluetooth Bus Driver/Manager.

Also as dumb as it might sound - make sure that Bluetooth is actually enabled (you can use Acer Quick Access to verify that).

I can't do anything more since I own version that uses Realtek Wi-Fi and BT.
