    Hello,

I have an Acer 2312 laptop. It has an inbuilt wireless card. The problem is, I don't get the best wireless reception sitting in a different room from where my linksys router is. I get pretty decent reception sitting close to the router but as I move further away from the router the reception weakens.

So, is there any way for me to improve the wireless signal reception. Any solution is welcome, as long as you can prove it works :)

    Peace!

I'd try updating the drivers on the card. Sometimes the driver from the card manufacturer work better. See if there is a firmware update for your router. Make sure you router isn't by anything like a cordless phone or behind anything.

Also, in addition to what zazonz said about updating the drivers, also try setting the router on a different channel - either put it at the highest or lowest value.

What else is inbetween you and the router besides a wall?
