Hey VLK,
Congrats on your new notebook! You don't have to reformat the unit if you don't want to. Windows XP has a utility built-in that will allow you to convert FAT/FAT32 to NTFS without re-formatting. If you want to reformat, you can do that as well. Usually when doing an clean/manual install of XP rather than using the Recovery CD's will give you this option.
Here's the Microsoft link that shows you how to convert your file system to NTFS.

Okay, I changed my C and D drives to NTFS, what about PQ Service drive? How do I change it to NTFS?

I wouldn't go change that as it might messup the ability to restore your system from this partition. If the partition is made by PowerQuest, you may be able to use PartitionMagic to make the change or even merge your C & D drives together to make 1 large partition.
