Do all you folks with TM8204 running the 3517 not have the screen graininess issue? As far as I can tell the 3517 is based off of the 3308 code base and in the current version has the same VBIOS as the 3319 BIOS, and the 3319 BIOS had screen graininess issue. In fact, I think everything after the 3311 BIOS has the issue because of the updated VBIOS's.

Responses are appreciated :)Thanks for taking your time.

Last couple of versions don't have that problem. I have ver.3516 (if I remember correctly) and no graininess at all.

Not really. Look at any website with a dark theme. If there is a grainy issue, the dark colors will show up speckled. For instance, my CS clan forum http://xico.mimiuchi.net/forum/index.php, all the dark colors especially the topic bars will seem speckled.

I have BIOS 3516 and can confirm that there is no graininess.

Both Jaad75, above, and I, had noticed the graininess, and complained about it to no end, so if we both clear it, I think we can safely say the graininess is a thing of the past.

You can very easily see if using Nokia Screen test - all the gray values had varying amounts of graininess before. It was pretty obvious on the test image.

I didn't install 3517 because it doesn't work with WinPhlash. And 3516 works OK with Vista.

Hey there, just wanted to confirm, no graininess with the 3517 BIOS, and this was with an under-warranty replacement of TM8204 motherboard. It came back to me with 3517 on it.

As an aside, I was extremely impressed with Acer warranty-repair service. Sill don't know what caused my original motherboard to crap out (running 3311 BIOS) but replacement and service was very quick turnaround.

    I get a blue screen with 3517 too. I've gone to 3516.
