    Hi All,

I have an Acer Travelmate 8210. I spilled some liquid in the keyboard some weeks back and now "left arrow" key has stopped working. I have taken the key off and tried to clean it based on various site suggestions. In my effort to clean the key I accidentely broke the key membrane :(

I have tryied to push on the contact surface, but it's not being detected. I think the wires are dead in that area.

Is there anyone who can help to fix this broken membrane and get the key working or do I really have to buy a new keyboard?

I thought about following this guide: IraqiGeek's Blog Howto: Laptop Keyboard Repair but not sure if its going to help..

I found the Ferrai5000 keyboard on ebay which is much cheaper than the TM8210 keyboard. They look very similiar and the connection seems to be the same.
Does anyone know if Ferrai5000 and TM8210 keyboard would be compatibile?

    many thanks
