Hi, does anyone know how to take the screen off from an acer aspire 1694? I know that it's identical to this one, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehpU6KyKeY8&feature=related, but that instruction doesn't tell how to remove it. I'd really appreciate some help on this subject.

The area indicated on the image above shows where the LCD cable connect to the mainboard (Thick black cable). Just unplug this by pulling it upwards. Then close the lid, unscrew the WLAN cover and unclip the antennae from the WLAN card (again these should just pull off). Open the lid again and pull the grey WLAN cable through the plastics. Finally unscrew the four silver retaining screws holding the hinges on to the top cover and the screen should lift off. To get inside the LCD compartment, take off the four black rubber screw covers in each corner of the lcd bezel, check uner any other covers for screws (some have a different screw layout) and pull the plastics appart. Hope this helps
