I am having problems with getting good sound quality when I try to record on my Aspire8930.

    First Problem:
When I plug in a headset, I eventually managed to get it to record off the mic on the headset, but can get no sound from the earphones - it always plays back through the speakers.

    Second Problem:
When I record from the mic, the recordings have a high level of hum in the background - like the fan is being recorded. I have tried removing this noise using recording software (such as Audacity), but this ends up in a distorted playback (ie high echo).

Does anyone else have problems recording?

Any suggestions as to how to cure the problems?

    TIA
