I will get rid of my 4920G asap, looking around for another Acer or maybe Asus.

I got the latest newsletter from Acer here in Thailand yesterday, they now have 2 models of 6920G on the market, one with T8300 and the other T9300.
Both have the GeForce 9500M GS, which according to www.notebookcheck.net is a Class 2 " GPU.
Another "extreme performance" model in Thailand is the 5920G with T9300 and GeForce 8600M GT . Also a class 2.

As far as i see it, i have to venture down to Singapore to get myself the 8920 for a class 1 GPU, or is there another option?

Thanks for any input into this!
    Tom

dont buy anything now , you will better off getting a montevina.

and powerful GPU in a laptop just generates heat and noise if you need an extremely powerful gpu , go for a desktop, Alienware , Dell xPSM1730 and Suger something all generate extreme heat, and this is why I am against so-called gaming laptops.....

balance is more important than pure RAW power.

NV8600GT in the 5920G or NV9500GS in the 6920G is powerful enough for most of games, and they are best balanced GPUs(power/noise emission).

and do not take the notebookcheck site benchmark too seriously.

Wait a month and see montevina out.

your Acer4920G 5a model is not at all a bad model, just not very powerful as a gaming laptop. but it is a decent model.

Why dont you keep it and buy a gaming desktop or a console, I personally think it is ridiculous to play hard core games on a laptop.

extremely powerful laptops(with NV8800GT or better) are all 17.1 inchers or bigger , this means they are no longer portable , if it is not a portable , why do you still have to buy an over priced gaming laptop? It is not any more portable than a desktop, seriously dont get a huge lappy, it is truly wasting.
