I've been looking on google but none of them mention the GPU ~
But looking at the current generation (8371/8471/8571), they only have integrated gpus (GMA4500MHD)

Why would Acer not sell to Japan, this laptop is supposed account for as much as 30-40% of laptop sales. Japan is a huge market too. Maybe they will do it eventually.

By the way, if you google 3820t in the google.it (I can't post urls yet, what kind of policy..), they sell the i5 430m with 5470 for 763 euros, which is quite a decent price, although the configuration is weak. I guess for you guys in the US it may come for some 850 dollars, because of taxes. Which might mean around 1000 for a i5 5650.

Another thing. Are all timelinex models only with 6 cells battery? Have you actually seen a 8 cells anywhere in pre-order?

Also, this comes WITHOUT bluetooth. Is it normal? I thought this series had it..

EDIT: Oh, and in Germany is already shipping the i5 430 - 5650, did you know?

I'm one step closer to the 3820TG since Apple's "new" MBP13 is a real disappointment.
Yay. Go Acer, bring those 620's over here =)

Yea the Acer 13 incher 5650HD puts the most powerful GT 330M on the 15 incher Macbook Pro to shame.
And I am sure the Acer is cheaper as well.
And what?! Their 13 incher STILL uses Core 2 Duo?!
Looks like Acer has a 13 inch "Pro" version of Macbooks.

You need at least 15 post to links bro.
    Read the forum rules :)
I'm guessing we will start to see them trickling out soon, once these laptops are out there will be a stampede to order first.

I think the policy is to prevent spam. It seems to work.

Nice to see the HD 5650 shipping. Waiting form my 620M/HD 5650 3820TG is like standing on the train platform waiting for your girl to get off the train and having to wait for the whole train to empty first. :(

    Ha!

By the way, I called Sony a few days ago to ask about the missing i7s. The guy expected them to be available next month, though many of those will go to folks who ordered configurations with i7s and are waiting on them. I really hope this problem doesn't affect Acer...I don't know how much longer I can wait.

The Acer Netherlands website has the TimelineX details in english (don't know why they don't use dutch) and for the specs (under "Communicatie") they reference WPAN: Bluetooth 2.1+EDR which means the TimelineX does have Bluetooth but unfortunately they do not have the 3820T (only the 4820T & 5820T) listed. Other things of note:

    1. For the 6 cell battery they say it will get up to 8 hrs and for the 9 cell battery they say it will get up to 12 hrs

    2. they list up 640 GB hard drive but do not say whether it is 5400 or 7200 rpm

    3. 4 USB ports (all 2.0)

hey i dont know if this was already posted, but in singapore you seem to be able to order the 3820tg if you're a student or something. also, this is the i7-620M model with the HD 5650! so that model does exist!

i would post the link but i can't since i dont have 15 posts. take out the spaces

    edu. acer.com.sg /nyp/config. asp?rel=G&pn=AS.PV102.K022E

price converts to about $1190 USD, but since stuff usually sells cheaper over here, i'm guessing we're going to see a price of $999 or $949.

as lackofcheese showed me this place in the UL30JT topic, I would like to add that not only one keyboard was broken, but nearly all demo laptops had defective keys...
Like I said in the other topic, the keys feel really unstable, like the fixation behind it is not strong enough...

The 2 SKUs available in China are (as today):
    AS3820TG 352G50Mn
    Core i3 350M with 2GB DDR3 RAM
    500GB eSATA HD
    ATI 5470HD
    6 cells battery
    around 5800 RMB

    AS3820TG 352G50N
    Core i5 430M with 2GB DDR3 RAM
    500GB eSATA HD
    ATI 5470HD
    6 cells battery
    around 6500 RMB

well, it hard to be annoyed about "deffective keyboard" in a machine that is SO MUCH better than UL30JC, (man, its a different world, you can play games with the 3820TG)...

maybe people started tinkering with the keyboard, abusing it, and ended up breaking it

from the looks of it, it has the same keyboard as the 4736z i used to have and that keyboard, in my honest opinion, felt GREAT

there is a guy that has a 4820tg here right? lets ask his opinion

i would do so but i think ill be getting mine be mid may, have to save up, i shouldnt have bought that DS :|

There have already been a number of 4820TG reviews indicating that the keyboard on that model was great. Is there really going to be such a significant difference between the 4820TG and the 3820TG. I would guess not. I'll let you know what I think when I get mine. :D

I don't see the need to overreact on the keyboard. Again, lets wait until more members get their hands on the machine or until an official review comes out. Keep in mind it's only ONE persons opinion. I honestly don't see too much wrong in the picture posted but then again I wasn't there. If it's anything like the keyboard in the last gen Timelines then there is nothing to worry about. Lets not forget that the Asus has had their own build quality issues with flex in the machine and keyboard yet those are still some very popular and good machines.

Any idea if the new timelinex series will be hackintoshable? I don't care if it only recognizes the integrated graphics.

Triple booting Linux, windows, and OS X would be great
