Acer has on there site the 3811, I think it is new. It has an SU4100 and the ATI 4 series graphics.
Nope, a while ago Acer said they were not happy with the performance of the ultra low voltage in the Timelines, so there is little chance of ulv Arrandale going in these, except maybe the 1410/1810 replacement.

UM, it is ultra low voltage. Have 18W TDP.
LM, it is low voltage . Have 25W TDP.
M, it is standard voltage. Have 35W TDP.
Acer chose standard voltage "M" processors, I wish they had chose "LM"'s. -
You think there would be a model to replace the current SP line of cpu and we would see Acer use that in an updated model?

I hope this thing gets released soon cuz I want a new laptop NOW! -
so many good laptops!
UL30JT, m11x, U30JC, Vostro 3400, Vostro 3500,
this acer looks like it has the best balance of power, weight, and battery life between all of them, but im waiting for another review -
Well the previous ultra low voltage processors I can understand, but aren't these core ix processors a whole 'nutha beast? I've been led to believe that despite being lower voltage the core i's are a considerable performance increase over the older ones (SU4100?). LM processors appears to be the most appropriate compromise (or makes the most sense to me) considering the Timeline namesake. But who am I to talk, it's not like I know anything about what goes into laptops I just buy'em...Here's hoping the 3820 will be the perfect combination of power and battery life. -
Something the size of a 1410 with I3/Ion 2 combo? That would be interesting. BTW, it looks like the ULV I5/I7s are being reserved for a new ultrathin line. http://www.cpureview.com/rumor-1-9cm-acer-ultra-thin-with-intel-calpella-ulv-processor.html
-
Still going alienware though for now, maybe if it really impresses I'll have to switch by mid summer -
-
if the 3820t is not coming to the us, this would really stink and my only option would be the ul30jt or pl30jt
-
.
-
I usually experience the opposite, it'd be odd if it wouldn't be available in the US.

ready for pre-order in Sweden!

However there is no version with 5650 yet? -
I noticed also they were for I3 processor preorders
-
IMO, 750€ for i3 + Intel graphics and 850€ for i3 + 5470 is too much -
that's up to the price of almost 1200 Canadian, in which case the 5650+i5 would probably be in the 1400 range. Therefore alienware is the way to go
-
Keep in mind the taxes are very different in Sweden.
-
yes, over there they tax your for being a blonde....
jk, I love my swedens... -

Next time try to use google -
its weird but looks like you can only preorder in denmark, sweden or norway. Atleast those are the only countries I could find with websites listed from.
n1c0, awesome link..... -
Norway's taxes are pretty crazy too compared the US. It probably won't be quite as expensive looking when it comes to North America.
-
Its between this and the UL30jt, but this acer system has much more power than a the UL30jt. Any word on a UK release anyone?
-
Holy crap those are some expensive prices, hopefully it's cheaper when it comes overseas...IF it comes overseas
Come on Acer! Sell it at a price that will make me JIZZ IN MY PANTS!....
EDIT: So I JUST received an email from my graduate school department saying they had $75,000 lying around that they need to get rid of soon, so I will be receiving over $900 extra on my upcoming paycheck....Come on Acer!, just release the goddamn thing! I don't care how much it costs anymore! -
ugh ok so just read the whole thread and noticed that people were placing the gt335m behind the 5650 which probably isnt right. all the benchmarks of the 335m on notebookcheck are with the mx11's su7300 processor and the 5650 has the quadcore i7 720qm. im only pointing this out because im looking at these acers, the y460, sony cw, and asus n82 which has the 335m. since the 5650 is in the same ballpark as the 330m with 48 cuda cores i dont think the it will be that close to the 335m with 72. however the 5650 has 400/5=80 so it might be close if that makes sense.
-
What confuses me, is that, how on earth is a i7 with a 5650, supposed to have any decent battery life? Won't the GPU eat away at the battery, in a mere hour or two, even when not under load, since it does not have optimus?
-
Jayayess1190 Waiting on Intel Cannonlake
-
1 hour? That is horrid!
-
I think it's perfectly reasonable to assume that such a powerful GPU in a 13'' chassis can not have energy efficency, in a notebook that is designed to be light, and portable.
The cool thing about this new marked of 13'' is that we can finally have the great horse power in a portable package. We just need to wait to do the heavy stuff when we are plugged in with a power cord. but besides that, we can run almost an entire day on integrated. -
Are people seriously expecting any laptop to play games for a long time on battery? Or do they just not know that these laptops have switchable graphics to and fro the integrated GPU?
-
-
This gives me some relief...
