    The Acer support wrote that the timeline is able to output 5.1/Ac3 sound via hdmi.
    The Realtek driver is configured to route the sound through hdmi.
    Using vlc with a Blueray rip (with Ac3 sound), I can't select something like Ac3 Passthrough for hdmi (I found spdif passthrough when selecting it in the realtek drivers, but it didn't work either).
    Well using k-lite codec pack forcing Ac3 output I only get noise on my end. The AV receiver should play DolbyDigital and DTS. what he does is dolby pro logic II upmix.

    Another user posted that DD/DTS works fine with his hdmi.
    I still get noise only, seems like the decoder won't recognize he's getting an Ac3 stream. I testet the decoder with a dvd player and it works fine.

    my setup is
    timeline 3810tg <-hdmi-> HP LP2475w <-coax-> decoder

    please anybody help me! this is consuming way too much of my time^^
