Edit: After reading some more I realized I was wrong about some things, and just wanted to confirm the steps before I purchased another hard drive.

    1) Make bootable disk from Acronis
    2) Install new hard drive in laptop
    3) Put old hard drive in an external case and connect through USB
    4) Boot up from DVD drive using F12
    5) Copy information over, including partition sizes
    6) Done?

Also I was planning on purchasing this hard drive - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136280
    And following this guide- http://forum.notebookreview.com/acer/305842-acer-5315-upgrade-drive-clone-larger-drive.html

It would be a great comfort if someone could confirm this for me/correct me where I'm. Also, will this void my warranty? Thanks so much.
