Do anyone know how i get the powersmart button to work? The P button is now bound to launch manager, but I dont have any powersmart option there. Is the powersmart, part of the ePower application from Acer? Ive tried to install the ePower, but I only get force closed error. Ive done a clear install with win7 ultimate, the moment I got this lappy.

    Cheers

I just called Acer support about this, and they said that because I bought this computer after the first of june, they couldnt help me, and asked me to contact the store I bought it in. I talked to the store, and they said they had to talk to acer, and I would get an response in 3 to 4 days. Please someone help me with this problem. Customer support are horrible :p

    Look here:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/ace...-power-management-backup-manager-problem.html

    Same case.
I wanted to go from oem windows 7 home premium to ultimate, did a clean install and the powersmart utility and button do not work.
I sent it to Acer for a restore and everything is fine.
Can not be solved otherwise, as un/installing the drivers does not make any difference.
It is weird though, and if everyone has found a solution, please sare.

Is the powersmart option part of the ePower application? Everytime i try to run it, i get the error msg saying that it has stopped working. Ive tried to reinstall it several times.

Talked to Acer again, and this time the guy actually tried to help me. He suggested that i download the ePower application from the 4820T model instead.
I dont get any errors anymore, but the application doesnt launch.
You should try that aswell g47

As i said the app can not launch when you make a fresh install.
    There is nothing to try.
