I've been browsing around this forum for some time now and some of the posts here helped convince me to go with the new Timeline series for my new laptopA few days ago I picked up a 5810T and thought I would share some tips I've found out

Using Dolby Sound Room
----------------------------------------------------
If you want to adjust your Dolby Sound Room settings, you can do so by going to the Control Panel > Sound > Select your primary Audio output > Properties > Dolby tab. Even if you format and re-install Windows, these settings will be there.
Unlocking more Multi-Touch gestures
----------------------------------------------------
By default, the Timeline series only has three multi-touch gestures, ChiralRotate, ChrialScroll and Pinch. By installing the latest Synaptics drivers from Here (13.2.6.1), you can unlock all of the SGS 9.1 gestures shown Here. The only problem with this is it breaks the Touchpad On/Off button. It will turn the pad off, but it won't turn it back on. The only way to turn it back on is by rebooting. I don't use the button, so I don't mind.
Solve the changing contrast/brightness problem
----------------------------------------------------
You'll notice sometimes when on battery power that the contrast/brightness of the screen seems to constantly change. This can be stopped by opening the Intel GMA Control Panel > Display Settings tab > Power Settings > select Disable Power Savings. This should solve it. If it doesn't, also uninstall Acer ePowerManagement, which changes this setting.
Improving the display's colors
----------------------------------------------------
I've found what seems to be the best colour settings in the Intel GMA Control Panel (avoid using the Windows Color Calibration utility, the GMA Control Panel conflicts with it and will cause your color profile to keep unloading). In the Intel GMA Control Panel, go to the Color Correction tab and set Gamma to 1.0, Brightness to -15 and Contrast to 50. This may vary by model, but on the panel used with the 5810T, this seems to be the best combo and looks very accurate.
Improving the audio quality of the internal speakers
----------------------------------------------------
By default, the internal speakers sound a bit tinny, but this can be improved by changing a few settings. Go to Control Panel > Sound > Select your default Audio Output > Properties. Under the Enhancements tab, tick "Equalizer" and set it to "Powerful". Also tick "Loudness Equalization". Under the Dolby tab, set Natural Bass to 6. And under the Advanced tab, set the output to 24 bit (Studio Quality). This sounds much richer and clearer compared to the out of box configuration.
I know I'm forgetting a few, but I'll update this thread as I stumble upon/remember more.

TIPS.....(4810t)
>dont use realtek audio driver instead use windows default for battery saving(but no dolby..)
>use atheros lan driver instead of default windows for batter saving...
>use high performance in battery option for better playback of h264 in wm12 and less cpu usage (less frame drop and battery savings is same as power saver )
>for vivid color in h264 in wm12 change to these settings in gma control panel /grapics properties/media /color enhancement..
brightness 0,contrast 1.10,hue 0,saturation 1.68..
>use winamp as mp3 player for less cpu usage....
these may vary on models but worth trying...
