I'm looking to replace my CMOS battery since my 5680 doesn't keep time anymore. However, after taking it apart I can't seem to find it anywhere. There isn't a lot of space there so its gotta be somewhere! :D

I searched these forums and all over the net but this is one question that never seems to be answered. Is it possible no one has located it even in a similar Aspire model?

I even searched for a service manual but couldn't find any.

Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

    thx

Well that would explain a lot.

Does this mean this battery is not a normal one you would buy to replace yourself?

Thanks a bunch for the answer and the link.
