Wanted to ask people here for your impressions with the Predator touchpad.

My impressions after the first days with this machine:

    - the touchpad feels rugged, I find it hard making smooth movements,
fingers seems to get "stuck" making precision movement difficult.
Especially when moving your finger slowly on the pad.

    - cursor movement speeds up while pressing either mouse button.

    - haven't found any way to zoom in/out by sliding the right side of
the touchpad up/down which I am used to from all my previous laptops.
Have had Dell, Alienware + other brands.

    - 2 finger gesture zooming works but is unstable/slow and takes some tries,
probably because of the rugged movement on the touchpad itself.

Would be nice to hear if anyone has any opinions/solutions to any of this,
have your touchpads became smoother over time, have you treated it
with anything to make it smoother etc..

While I don't have this laptop, so it's not strictly relevant, I'd like to say that in my experience with different Acer laptops touch-pad smooths out in time. Touch-pads now look like they have been polished (especially the right side since I tend to use it with my right hand and therefore closer to the right edge).
I do remember touch-pads being a bit too "matte" so to speak, and I agree that wasn't ideal but in my experience it all smoothed out (literally and figuratively).
I didn't do anything to make it smoother though - I just used them for a while.
