    Hi all

I have an ACER 7535G which i upgraded to windows 7. I am trying to disable the touch tap feature which makes tapping the pad do a click.

I cannot find the setting in the synaptics software, i understand it shoud be under 'device settings' > 'settings' but is not there, it seems like the software is not recognising that a touch pad exists..

If i click on the synaptics icon in the notifications at the bottom right of my screen and select 'accessories' > 'pressure graph' I get the message "Sorry this program requires a synaptics touchpad and the synaptics pointing device driver"
Which leads me to believe the software doesnt recognise the touchpad.

I have tried the latest WIN7 drivers from the Synaptics website and the ACER website but no luck..

Not being able to disable the tap touch feature is causing erratic jumping in my cursor.. so any help appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi,

uninstall the Synaptics software from control panel /Programs & Settings, then reboot. Windows should then use its standard PS2 pointing device drivers. Now reinstall the Synaptics drivers (Perhaps try the Windows7 version offered from Acer for Aspire 1810 series).
