I've literally just got my new Aspire 2930 out of the box and setup only to find that the touchpad can go for about 20 seconds without recognising any input from me. When it finally does the cursor zips across the screen, appearing then disappearing, only to re-appear somewhere else. After about 5 seconds of this it freezes again and wont move no matter how much i try. I plugged a USB mouse in which works fine, and adjusted the sensitivity etc, i also downloaded and re-installed the drivers for it, all to no avail.

Anyone know what's going on? Could it be a hardware back-to-the-shop problem?

    Thanks.

If anybody else is having this problem then this is what the tech guy told me to do.

Restart and press Alt and F11, then reboot from factory settings. If its an install problem this will fix it.

If it's still not working then its a hardware problem and will need to be sent off for repair like mine has.
