    Hello All,

This is my first time visiting this message board and I have found it to be quite useful so far. However, I have a question with regards to my newly purchased laptop (TM4002WLMi).

There is a bluetooth button on the front of the laptop (which seems to be off). I can not figure out how I can connect a bluetooth device to my computer (I have a T610 phone Ericson). When I go to "Add a new device" section in windows, it says that it can't find any devices. I have discovery on in my cell phone, and it won't work.

I also tried turning on discovery on the laptop, but i get this error:

"An error occured while Windows was saving your settings. The following settings were not saved:

    Discoverability settings
    Connection settings"

Does this laptop even have bluetooth support? By the way, I have Windows XP Home Edition SP2, and my phones bluetooth works just fine, because it works with my mac.

    Thank you in advance.

My brother is a computer wiz, he told me he could install it if I find the module. (he opened my laptop, so I figure he has somewhat of an Idea on where is the compartment 4 the module)

    any info will be apreciated!!

It has 3 USB ports for more info check out the manual
    http://csd.acer.com.tw/acer/URMUL1.NSF/0/7055b859d92e486748256eda003c8081/$FILE/TM2300_4000_4500_Eng_0623.pdf

The manual is common for 2300/4000/4500

As for Bluetooth Module it will cost around $80 or more(Depends) . But still its worth cuz u have the button which can be used and much more comfortable than carrying a USB dongle

According to this forum (http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=38437) you can get one for the acer 2012 at the company bellow.
    ****************************
Where did I get this Bluetooth module? Definitely not from Acer, since they refuse to sell it since the 2025 series laptop is still under warranty. I managed to track down a very nice company called Capital Data, INC. Their number is (517) - 371-7100. If you call, ask for their Acer parts department. They seemed very nice to me, as they initially didn't have the part but still offered to call around looking for it, and then they actually called me back and left a message saying they found it. This is very rare and excellent customer service! One minor issue I had was that they sent (and charged) me for some additional Bluetooth parts that -I believe- I only inquired about their price, and didn't actually order. Anyways, after some discussion they finally agreed to RMA it with no restocking fee, and even paid for shipping. I wanted to mention all that because they really do seem like a nice company, even with this dispute.

If you can not buy one from them we can buy one togheter (I live in the Netherlands) and I can shipe one to you.

What I want to now first from you if we buy one thogether is were do I fit the module in my Acer.

You can reach me on piet_DOT_proem_AT_zonnet_DOT_nl (replace _DOT_ whit an "." and _AT_ with "@")
