I removed Vista from my machine and went to XP Pro and installed SP3, and Net Framework 2.0. Then I downloaded the display drivers for the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 (I checked if that's the actual card installed with Everest) from the Acer website and during driver installation I get the following message:
Setup did not find a driver compatible with your current hardware or operating system. Setup will now exit.
I made sure they're XP drivers, tried modding the desktop HD 2600 drivers with Mobility Modder with the same results.
Is there ANY way to get my GPU working?![]()

Is the driver a setup package(.exe), or an archive zip/rar? If you have the actual driver and not the package you can install the driver manually. If you have setup package I'm pretty sure it's extract itself somewhere...you need the INF from that temp directory. Check this guide.
This is a common problem with laptop GPUs. -
It was an self extracting installer. I followed your URLs, it worked like a charm, thanks!
Now, the drivers are installed, but I've got no Catalyst Control Center, and can't seem to find a separate installer for it (it comes with the graphic drivers and if I try to install them I get the before mentioned error message). -
Nevermind, I was searching hrough the unzipped driver package and found a separate CCC Setup.

Good to know it worked for you, glad to help.
