I tried to do a clean install of Windows XP Professional SP2 on my Acer TravelMate 8103WLMi and I noticed something odd. Apparently I did not have the ability to put the laptop in hibernation.

I tried installing Acer ePowerManagement but that didn't work. Still wasn't able to hibernate. I was thinking that it may be an issue with no ACPI drivers but I'm not sure. It does work when I restore through the Recovery Partition which would seem to indicate that there is something in the Factory Default Installation that is not in the clean install version of Windows XP Professional.

I was wondering if anyone had any similar problem like this or any possible solution. I checked the drivers cd and the FTP site and there is nothing that would seem to indicate ACPI.
